Call
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
(Matthew 28:18-20)
In the text above JESUS commands us to go into the whole world, and as we go, to make disciples. This call is to all true believers
whether they accept it or not. This does not mean we all have to go over the whole world to share the Gospel. It simply means that
each of us are witnesses to CHRIST wherever we go, and that the name of JESUS should continually be on our lips.
Every layman,
deacon, elder, pastor and church is given the same call. It is our choice as to whether or not we will be obedient to the call. Blessings
come from obedience. And there is a whole world of lost people out there who are doomed for the eternal fires of hell if we do not
go and share JESUS with them. There is no guarantee that they will be saved, but at least our hands will be clean from giving them
the opportunity.
In North Carolina alone there are over 5.6 million people with no religious affiliation at all, plus millions
more who claim to be Baptist, Methodist or whatever who are members and never go to church, or who attend once and while but have
no idea what salvation is all about. They are waiting to hear about JESUS. As the LORD asked Isaiah in Isaiah 6:8, "Whom shall we
send and who will go for us?" Are you willing to say, "Here am I, send me?"
Revelation 20:12-15
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book
was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to
their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and
they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second
death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
